New Jersey State Library / New Jersey Knowledge Initiative

The New Jersey State Library is led by State Librarian Norma E. Blake.   The Library believes access to information and libraries empowers organizations, people and government. Each of its three   bureaus, the Library Development Bureau (LDB), the NJ Library for the Blind and Handicapped (NJLBH) and the State   Library Information Center (SLIC), has a distinct and valuable role in serving legislature, libraries and the over eight million   diverse residents who call New Jersey home. As the leader of the more than 2000 member libraries in the New Jersey   Library Network, the State Library takes a proactive and innovative approach in guiding libraries and providing information to  foster a literate, productive and competitive New Jersey. Last year, attendance in New Jersey's public libraries was over   41 million with total circulation of almost 52 million. Visit www.njstatelib.org for more information.

New Jersey Knowledge Initiative (NJKI) supports N.J. economic development by providing the state's entrepreneurs, small   business owners, researchers and students free, convenient access to twelve high-end science, technology, medicine,   and business databases. Public and academic librarians statewide provide KI search assistance and reference service to businesses. Visit www.njki.org for more information.
